Daft Punk: Random Access Memories

7.7

Daft Punk took a turn for the strange, as per usual. The new album is less techno and more disco than pervious material. A lot of 70's porn soul flavoring runs deep throughout the record. This album may have more staying power, more sustainable songs than the typical Daft Punk sound that shocked the world on arrival. It's more mature as for songwriting capabilities, live instruments, and it's a more mellow vibe, music to make love to. Who expected this from Daft Punk? But why would the unexpected be a surprise for one of the weirdest acts on Earth? Most notable track, and the funkiest is "Giorgio by Moroder". I'm a sucker for anything to do with Giorgio Moroder, plus it's funky as hell!
