A Place to Bury Strangers: Onwards to the Wall EP

5.

I've followed this band since the beginning, when they were all noise. No melodies. No songs. Their newest release, still noisey as ever, is more melodic. There are song structures, verses/choruses, underneath all the distorted mayhem, but nothing great enough to jump out at you as a 'great song'. I sometimes get the feeling they are more interested in their guitar pedals, than their songwriting, and maybe that's their schtick, but it's still mediocre music. This band is forever following in the footsteps of My Bloody Valentine, always miles behind.
