Beacon: For Now EP

8.2

Beacon is the new adult contemporary, and I don’t mean like Sting’s solo records, more like The Blue Nile or Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk. It’s sophisticated pop music and mellow trance-like moods between programmed drum loops and ambient synthesizers. For all the bands that go for this sound and get it wrong, most miss the heart and emotion in computerized music like this, Beacon perfected it. It’s beautifully written compostions similar to Peter Gabriel’s So album. Pop music isn’t just for kids when it comes to artists like this. Adult pop songs are just pop songs with deep meaning and imagery conveyed. And the more you listen to Beacon’s music, the more you disperse into the music, like melting color into sound.
