Chelsea Light Moving: Chelsea Light Moving

7.

Sounds like Sonic Youth without the ex-members. All of the ingredients you loved in Sonic Youth are missing, yet the overall grungey sound they invented is still in use. Thurston Moore shows he is quite capable of making a great rock and roll record, but he is the only personality that stands out. This isn't even a bad record, but it makes you want to listen to those classic Sonic Youth records while you're listening. I don't exactly know what the ultimate goal of this band is, but if it were to offer something new to the table of sounds and color, there isn't much new ground included. Perhaps, Moore should stick to music more akin to Demolished Thoughts, his acoustic solo album. That was a stellar record and a point in a new direction for him.
