Pink Skull: Psychic Welfare

8.2

Pink Skull is the most underrated, overlooked band currently happening. Many compare them to LCD Soundsystem, without the fame. But they are just as good as anything James Murphy's released. They blend electronic music with punk rock ethos and place the listener in outer space sonically over abstract lyrics about drugs and nonsense. It's stream of consciousness techno rock. And though Psychic Welfare is almost short enough to list as an EP, there's enough awesomeness going on to compete with any full length record by an artist of this genre. If Pink Skull's masterpiece was Endless Bummer, this is the perfect companion piece to accompany it.
