Brooke Moriber's "Cry Like A Girl" Album Release Show Wednesday, 6/12 at Rockwood Music Hall

With the recent release of “Cry Like A Girl” being lauded for sharing “Raw Emotion with Strong Vocals and a Spot-On Delivery” (Parade Magazine) and as a “powerhouse” (Popdust) - Singer/Songwriter Brooke Moriber is bringing her recent Nashville-produced LP back to the city she calls home. She’ll perform it LIVE for her official Album Release Show on Wednesday, June 12th at 8PM at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 2 (196 Allen St, New York, NY 10002) along with Golden Dimes!

“Cry Like A Girl” was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with legendary producer Fred Mollin (Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Shawn Colvin) at the helm and mixed by 5 time Grammy Winner Chris Lord-Alge (Carrie Underwood, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen). The 11-track release delves into messages of self-discovery, empowerment, and overall growth, which Moriber says embodies the collection as a whole. “Itʼs a statement about the strength that comes from embracing your emotions and allowing yourself to heal and grow. The making of this album was a journey of self discovery for me”.

Brooke has been lauded for her “clarion voice” by the Associated Press and songs that are “destined for high rotation”. A native New Yorker, Brooke began her singing career at the age of 8 by snagging a starring role on Broadway as Young Cosette in Les Miserables. No less than The New York Times has praised her acting ability as Brooke went on to star in six other legit shows as well as several roles on TV and in film. Brooke’s remarkable ability to juggle her career as both a recording artist and an actor led to her sharing the stage and screen with such performers as The Gin Blossoms, Cyndi Lauper and Alan Cumming as well as singing the National Anthem for the New York Knicks.

Now as she gets ready to celebrate in the heart of NYC at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 2 (196 Allen St, New York, NY 10002) on Wednesday, June 12th along with Golden Dimes, her fans can experience what it feels like to truly “Cry Like A Girl” in celebration of her momentous release!

The Chris Ruben Band Bringing Their “Multi-instrumental Psychedelic Vision of the Future of Sound and Light” To Rockwood Music Hall, NYC Saturday, January 19th

With rave reviews of their most recent single “Stomach Coil” which dropped this past October, the raucous psychedelic-rock/funk stylings of the Chris Ruben Band are heading into this New Year in style with an upcoming performance at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 1 on Saturday, January 19th at 9:00PM!

The Chris Ruben Band is a funk/rock band from Long Island, New York. The group features five members; Chris Ruben (Vocals, Guitar), Brendan Allan (Bass), Russ Benjamin (Drums), Eugene Iovine(Keyboards, Synths), & Frank Iovine (Synths, Organs). Influenced by classic acts including The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, and Nirvana, together their sound is a blend of modern funk and indie-rock reminiscent of Jamiroquai and Mac DeMarco. The band has become a staple in the Long Island music scene, frequenting venues including Portside Bar & Grill, 89 North, The Velvet Lounge, and BrickHouse Brewery. In addition, they have had the pleasure of performing at SXSW, Froggy Daze 7 & 8, The Space at Westbury,The Bitter End, Alive After Five, and The Jones Beach Bandshell.

“Ever since I can remember I have been surrounded by music. My father repairs woodwind and brass instruments, so since I was little, top-notch musicians have been coming in and out of my home. But music always spoke to me.” says singer/songwriter Chris Ruben. Ruben began as a drummer, and first started gigging with bands at the age of thirteen. By the time he was sixteen, he made the switch to guitar and started writing songs of his own. In late 2014, the first version of The Chris Ruben Band was formed. Over time, Chris added and replaced players until the perfect lineup was created. “We are more than a band, we are family.”

In a recent review from Mobangeles, the band is called “tasty good” with a sound described as “pure grit” for “any fans wanting to pad their musical library with raw and multi-layered musical arrangements”, and as they continue to perform and write new music, fans are sure to keep getting just that.

Now as they get ready to hit the stage at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 1 on Saturday, January 19th they’ll bring their brand of funk, rock, blues, and anything that grooves to a NYC audience in the new year!
