Brooke Moriber Drops Evocative New Single “So Do I”, Presenting and Performing at “Women in Country” Show at The Bitter End in NYC

Current Country music sensation Brooke Moriber’s new single “So Do I” will be available on Fri. July 19th! Written by Brooke Moriber, with Jessica Cayne and Karen Kosowski, “So Do I” is a song about admitting your regrets in ending a relationship and hoping that the one you lost feels as lost without you as you do without them.

When I’m drivin’ down the interstate

Or dancing in a crowded room

And I hear your name

In the kitchen with the radio on

And they’re playing our favorite song

I go back to that summer night

Said you’d never let me go

Under the city lights

Were you lyin’ when you crossed your heart

Cause now I don’t know where you are

Movin on or wondering what went wrong

This bed feels empty at night and so do I

My friends keep asking me why and so do I

Feeling like I won’t recover

Like there’ll never be another

And I wonder

Do you pretend you’re alright, cause so do I

So do I

“So Do I” was produced by Karen Kosowski, Mixed by Craig Alvin and Mastered by Greg Calbi. The record was Engineered by David Kalmusky at Addiction Sound Studios (Nashville TN) and by Karen Kosowski at The Holodeck South (Nashville TN) featuring musicians Sol Littlefield on electric guitars, Marc Rogers - Electric Bass & Synth Bass, Justin Schipper - Steel, Chad Cromwell - Drums and Nathan Chapman on Acoustic Guitar, Resonator Guitar + Banjo.

Brooke also recently launched "Nashville in New York", a series of Nashville style songwriters' rounds sponsored by Music Choice Network bringing some of country music's top talents to her hometown New York City. On Saturday July 20th “Nashville in New York (NINY)” returns to the legendary The Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC for the fourth installment of the new bi-monthly series. Brooke will, as always, host and perform at the intimate acoustic storytellers style performance event, this time celebrating the Women Of Country alongside acclaimed songwriters Callista Clark, Emily Shackelton, Averie Bielski and Claire Wyndham with special guest M.C. Kelly Ford. Presented by Music Choice and sponsored in part by KICKER Performance Audio, Suerte Tequila and Taylor Guitars. Get Tickets here.

Previous NINY shows have showcased the talents of Victoria Banks, Phil Barton, Jeff Cohen, Kara DioGuardi, Ian Flanigan, Randall Fowler, Toby Lightman, Jon Stone and members of the 615 Collective (which includes tunesmiths Sarah Darling, Aaron Goodvin, Michael Logen and Nicole Witt).

Brooke Moriber is a singer/songwriter who has paved an unconventional path for herself in Country music. After getting her start at a young age professionally performing on Broadway, Brooke turned to songwriting as a teenager to cope with losing her eyesight to a rare eye disease. When the disease went into remission after a difficult four years, Brooke began traveling to Nashville to tell her own stories. Praised for her “clarion voice” (Associated press), she went on to release her first single “Cry Like A Girl” independently and later signed with Nashville’s Reviver Records.

Brooke's music has been featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday Country (Little Bit of You, Half A Heart, Down to Nothing) and Country Christmas playlists (All I Want for Christmas is You), Sirius XM's Velvet, CMT online, Music Choice Network and the Music Row Country Breakout radio chart. Hailed as a "stellar songwriter and a powerhouse vocalist" (Country Swag) and a "force to be reckoned with in Country music" (Celeb Secrets Country).

Mark Newman is a well traveled and in demand professional whose musical prowess has taken him around the world several times over; working alongside many soul, blues, and rock greats of our time including John Oates (Hall & Oates), Jim McCarty (The Yardbirds), Willy DeVille (Mink DeVille), Sam The Sham, Bobby Whitlock (Derek and the Dominos) and Sam Moore (Sam & Dave), as part of these bands Mark has shared the stage with stars such as Sting, Elvis Costello, Travis Tritt and Carla Thomas as well. Originally from New York, The Blues Project are possibly the best unsung American rock band of the sixties. The music of The Blues Project defies description, ranging from folk-rock to soul, from rock 'n' roll and blues to jazz, all blended together to produce a tremendously wide spectrum. They have played alongside artists such as Big Joe Williams, Son House, Bukka White, Skip James, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Otis Spann, to name a few.

A multi stringsman, Mark has mastered electric/acoustic/lap steel guitar as well as the mandolin and dobro. Past music releases include the singles “At The Border” which was originally written with the struggles people were experiencing fleeing the war in Ukraine in mind, but is also inspired by the millions of people all around the world trying to escape oppression and hunger on an ongoing basis, “Tulsa”, a song and video created in remembrance of the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, and “From Me To You”, a cover of the Janis Ian song for her Better Times Project of 2020. His most recent studio album, “Empirical Truth” was the 2019 Winner of The Long Island Blues Society Best Album Category, and represented the NY area in competition at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. PREMIERE: Shock Radar shares new science-fiction inspired single from "OBSERVATIONS" album

"But You Will" is the beasty new single from New York City indie band Shock Radar. They have already shared one darkly chilling and ominous track, today we are debuting their crushingly loud single, taken from their forthcoming album, they call “the soundtrack to an imaginary science fiction film." The gently twinkling "More or less the same" feels more ethereal and tender than the group's heavy new song, but no less eerie or spellbinding. It was inspired by their love of vintage Twilight Zone episodes and Philip K. Dick novels. The band explains:

"We gave 'But You Will' a conceptual form as we’ve been intrigued by sci-fi horror films. They have been the perfect place for examining the creative process and its inherent powers of transcendence and self-destruction. We produced it like a film score to a fictional screenplay about people addicted to adrenaline highs through joy or pain. The theme follows a characters escape from the boredom of everyday life through video footage collected by an
 omniscient narrator."

Thomas Priest "Wake Up Call" is a rocker!

This is one of the hottest EP's to drop all year! Thomas Priest is a singer/songwriter from New York with songs you won't forget!

'Pop Rock' is led by young artists today like Thomas Priest. The songs are upbeat, catchy melodies with a smart lyrical charm. The first three songs are full throttle rockers. "Safe Tonight" features awesome chorus harmonies with Lindsay Mac, easily one of the best tracks I've heard all year. "Ignorance" is more experimental and synth-ambient, changing the course of the EP's direction to a more mellow tone. "What Do We Do" is the greatest Noel Gallagher song he wish he wrote! An epic closing ballad to a perfect EP.

"Wake Up Call" is indie rock waiting for the mainstream to drink its morning coffee. This is the jolt we need on the radio today. Priest has a soulful voice, warm in tone and emotionally resonant. His lyrics are very relatable and sincere. Some of the tunes sound like something The Strokes or Stereophonics would do, but more modern and sharper production. There is a fresh in-studio organic vibe, very well-recorded with high level quality and top notch musicians. Keep em coming Thomas!

Thomas Priest is a fast rising music star from East Northport, Long Island. On his 13th birthday, Thomas began jamming on the electric guitar and realized that he had a real passion for music, immersing himself in the art and quickly learning to play the acoustic and bass guitars as well. He began songwriting and playing live a few years later; his first performance being at his High School’s talent show when he was just 15. Over time, Thomas learned he also had a knack for singing and within a year of that first show the now competent and confident Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist began writing and recording his own songs in a studio. After completing two incredible tracks which immediately became the talk of his hometown, Thomas set his sights on making his dream to become a professional nationally touring musician come true.

Earlier this year, Thomas had the pleasure of recording his second EP in Nashville, TN with Rian Dawson of All Time Low as Producer. The fruits of their labor can be heard on this brand new EP entitled "Wake Up Call", which is now available everywhere. Thomas Priest isn't looking back, he’s charging forward. No prayers needed; he’s got the drive, determination and most of all the exceptional talent required to truly succeed. Listen online and decide for yourself. You’ll want to catch him performing LIVE in a city near you very soon!

These People New EP "Animal Behavior" is out October 18th

Songwriter, and producer Tj Penzone started THESE PEOPLE as a solo project after the break up of his former band Men, Women, & Children (Warner / Reprise records).  Not wanting to be tied down to any specific line up, the live band has a constant rotation of musicians but the songs are primarily written, recorded, & produced by TJ, with additional instrumentation, and co-production by his brother Rick Penzone (Color Film, MWC).

Although the music is influenced by many genres, there is a common theme of primal rhythms, angular guitars, synthesized overtones, and ethereal vocals that tie all the different types of songs together.

The first two singles released were A / B Vision, and Brain Clouds. They both feature Walter Schreifels (Gorilla Biscuits, Quicksand, Rival Schools) on back up vocals.

The band will be supporting the latest release through out the year with live shows around the east coast.

"Surreal and kaleidoscopic, depicts a fantastic mélange of visuals reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey combined with images from a ’50s sci-fi movie, intermingled with blurred images of band members playing their instrument" - 'Of the video' writer Randall Radic

The Chris Ruben Band Bringing Their “Multi-instrumental Psychedelic Vision of the Future of Sound and Light” To Rockwood Music Hall, NYC Saturday, January 19th

With rave reviews of their most recent single “Stomach Coil” which dropped this past October, the raucous psychedelic-rock/funk stylings of the Chris Ruben Band are heading into this New Year in style with an upcoming performance at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 1 on Saturday, January 19th at 9:00PM!

Influenced by classic acts including The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, and Nirvana, together their sound is a blend of modern funk and indie-rock reminiscent of Jamiroquai and Mac DeMarco. The band has become a staple in the Long Island music scene, frequenting venues including Portside Bar & Grill, 89 North, The Velvet Lounge, and BrickHouse Brewery. In addition, they have had the pleasure of performing at SXSW, Froggy Daze 7 & 8, The Space at Westbury,The Bitter End, Alive After Five, and The Jones Beach Bandshell.

But music always spoke to me.” says singer/songwriter Chris Ruben. Ruben began as a drummer, and first started gigging with bands at the age of thirteen. By the time he was sixteen, he made the switch to guitar and started writing songs of his own. In late 2014, the first version of The Chris Ruben Band was formed. Over time, Chris added and replaced players until the perfect lineup was created. “We are more than a band, we are family.”

In a recent review from Mobangeles, the band is called “tasty good” with a sound described as “pure grit” for “any fans wanting to pad their musical library with raw and multi-layered musical arrangements”, and as they continue to perform and write new music, fans are sure to keep getting just that.

Now as they get ready to hit the stage at Rockwood Music Hall - Stage 1 on Saturday, January 19th they’ll bring their brand of funk, rock, blues, and anything that grooves to a NYC audience in the new year!
